Black Futures Month- Featuring Our Top Favourite Brands

Black Futures Month- Featuring Our Top Favourite Brands

Over the month of February we highlighted some of our favourite local black owned businesses! Here is a round up of those we featured.

Choosing Hue - Vegan chef Aisha Lesley Bentham started the HUE brand six years ago and has worked with diverse clientele from international artist WU-thang to clients who want to start their own vegan journey.

Brimz- Located in Kensington Market in Toronto, Dameion Royes, owner of Brimz designs, sells and manufactures all types of hats, caps and fedoras.

Makeup for Melanin Girls-  Tomi, founder of Makeup for Melanin Girls first had the idea of her business when she was booked to do a runway gig and the makeup artist didn't have any makeup that matched her skin tone. Makeup for Melanin Girls was born shortly after and bloomed into a beautiful community where "skin tones aren't niche but are front and centre where they deserve to be"

Pretty Denim -  Tahnee Lloyd-Smith founder of Pretty Denim strives for her company to maintain a slow and ethical fashion position. All of their garments are made in Toronto, in a non-factory setting. And, in efforts to become a more planet friendly brand they use sustainable fabrics and materials.

We hope you enjoyed our feature on these black owned businesses!
